How to Compare Supplement Products Beyond the Price Tag

Compare supplement packs using their format, stated servings, label information and current price, without confusing pack size with personal suitability.

Make a comparison sheet

Put the exact product name, format, pack quantity and current selling price in separate columns. Add the date you checked the listing. Keep capsule products and powders clearly identified, because their pack units describe different things. A comparison sheet is most useful when it exposes missing information rather than producing a winner automatically. Leave an unknown field blank and ask for clarification instead of filling it with an assumption.

Normalise only comparable quantities

Where the label provides a serving size, calculate the number of stated servings in the pack. For an invented example, a ₹1,200 pack containing 30 stated servings works out to ₹40 per stated serving. This is arithmetic, not a suggested dose or a Birla RootX price. Compare prices on the same basis, and do not conclude that the lowest figure represents the most suitable product for your needs.

Keep formula differences visible

List ingredients and any declared quantities using the label’s own measurement units. Do not equate milligrams of a botanical extract with milligrams of a differently specified ingredient simply because the numbers look similar. If the panel does not disclose something you need to know, record that limitation. Avoid creating a score based only on the number of ingredients: a longer list does not by itself demonstrate better quality or a better fit.

Separate product questions from health questions

A seller can clarify pack size, printed directions and order details. A qualified healthcare professional can assess suitability alongside medicines, existing conditions and other products you use. Do not use a comparison spreadsheet to change prescribed treatment or design a supplement stack. For background, the NIH consumer guide to dietary supplements discusses safety, quality and talking with healthcare providers. Its general information is not evidence that an individual branded product works.

Verify the listing and the delivered pack

Before ordering, check the current price, available label images, support route and ordering information. After delivery, retain the packaging and check the product identity and batch details. If something is missing or does not match, contact support before relying on an assumption. The Birla RootX Performance Series lists current product pages; use our label-reading checklist alongside them. Compare what is actually disclosed, and keep unanswered questions visible until you receive a clear response.
